We’re taking this Tarot train to Portland and setting up shop in the bookfair at the 2019 AWP Conference (Associated Writers & Writing Programs). Find us in Booth #10046 from 9am to 5pm. We’ll offer 3-card readings throughout the day, and you can schedule your appointment in advance!
We'd Love to Meet You! Come & See Us!
We’re offering Tarot readings as part of a unique, interactive poetry event hosted by Poetry Brothel NYC, which takes poetry into the lush interiors of a bordello. The evening will be presided over by burlesque stylings, private poetry readings, magic, mystics, music, and of course, your Madame.
We’re talking Tarot at the AWP Conference in Portland, on a panel with Catherine Bowman and Laurie Filipelli. This talk explores how the archetypal imagery of Tarot offers access to the intuitive self that fuels our best creative work. We’ll discuss how we use Tarot to better understand the creative process, our own work, and the “psycho-spiritual” journey of writers in all genres. This discussion includes practical exercises and approaches for using Tarot during the writing process, in workshop, and when teaching, regardless of prior knowledge about Tarot cards and their traditional meanings.
This three-part study offers an introduction to the systems of thought in the Smith-Rider-Waite Tarot deck (and other decks inspired by it). Three sessions meet weekly on Wednesday evenings in April. You can register for one, two, or three sessions. Those who register for all three classes will receive a free private Tarot reading.
Class 1: The Four Elements of Tarot / Wednesday, April 3 / 7-9pm / $22 / Register
Class 2: The Court Cards / Wednesday, April 10 / 7-9pm / $22 / Register
Class 3: The Major Arcana / Wednesday, April 17 / 7-9pm / $22 / Register
The study sessions will help you become more familiar with the cards, but also help you deepen your relationship to Tarot and discover how your deck likes to speak to you. We'll learn widely understood meanings, but also how we can develop a practice that originates from within. We'll discuss how we understand the magic in Tarot, our own intuition, rituals for keeping our practice alive and aligned, and how we can continue growing in our individual study.
Participants should bring their own decks to class -- a Smith-Rider-Waite deck or another based on its framework.
Join us for a Tarot reading (under a full moon!) at BFREE Yoga. We have six slots open for 3-card readings (20 minutes each). We’ll explore what’s most relevant to you at the moment, and help you set goals and intentions for the month ahead. Email us at email@example.com to reserve a spot. Give us a few options in your email (7:30, 7:50, 8:10, 8:30, 8:50, 9:10). Readings are $22 each.
