Moonlight Tarot Circle

If you're Tarot-curious or already developing your practice... come Tarot with us! These gatherings (every other month) allow anyone working with Tarot at any level the opportunity to connect with others, collect new insights, find inspiration to expand your practice, and discover resources to support your continued practice.

Each session begins with a brief talk or demo focused on a specific topic or aspect of the Tarot, with time for questions and conversation. In our second hour, we'll experiment with the cards, read for another, and share our discoveries. The topic for this session is "Fives and Sevens: Conflict & Disruption."

Journey Through Tarot

Journey Through Tarot

This three-part study offers an introduction to the systems of thought in the Smith-Rider-Waite Tarot deck (and other decks inspired by it). Three sessions meet weekly on Wednesday evenings in April. You can register for one, two, or three sessions. Those who register for all three classes will receive a free private Tarot reading.

Class 1: The Four Elements of Tarot / Wednesday, April 3 / 7-9pm / $22 / Register
Class 2: The Court Cards / Wednesday, April 10 / 7-9pm / $22 / Register
Class 3: The Major Arcana / Wednesday, April 17 / 7-9pm / $22 / Register

The study sessions will help you become more familiar with the cards, but also help you deepen your relationship to Tarot and discover how your deck likes to speak to you. We'll learn widely understood meanings, but also how we can develop a practice that originates from within. We'll discuss how we understand the magic in Tarot, our own intuition, rituals for keeping our practice alive and aligned, and how we can continue growing in our individual study.

Participants should bring their own decks to class -- a Smith-Rider-Waite deck or another based on its framework.

Workshop: Tarot for the Writer's Soul

Workshop: Tarot for the Writer's Soul

As Tarot readers, we utilize the rich imagery and metaphorical language of the cards to better understand our own lives and to shape our personal stories. Tarot is also an ideal tool for writers, as a source of inspiration and support. In this workshop led by Typewriter Tarot reader Claire Bowman, we will:

  • Utilize Tarot to inspire, develop, and refine ideas for writing

  • Explore the Tarot's archetypes and symbols as inspiration for our work

  • Discover ways to incorporate Tarot into our regular writing practice

  • Explore how we can use Tarot to create more comfort (and less self-doubt!) in our writing / creative practice

Participants will be writing during the workshop, and we'll focus on the work you create in class, rather than previous work or work-in-progress. This workshop is open to writers of all skill levels and genres, and likely useful to artists working in different disciplines.

Participants should bring their own Tarot decks (if you have one). We will be using the Smith Rider Waite deck, or other decks based on its system. We will also have extra decks available for use during class if you don't currently own a Tarot deck.
