The Creative Magic Collective’s Astrological Pilgrimage through the Tarot offers a guided, directed path that’s aligned with the movement of the stars, the turning of the Earth, and your lived experience day to day.

🕰️ We’ll take our time. No cramming centuries of information into six weeks. Instead, we’re feeling into the energy and archetypes one at a time, as they arise on the wheel of the year, looking for subtle and glaring connections between the Tarot, the planets and signs, and our real lives.

Here’s what happens when you join the pilgrimage:

• STEP 2: At the start of each zodiac season, we’ll gather to explore the cards associated with the current zodiac sign, its planets and decans. (Recordings provided!) • STEP 3: Beginning with Aries season on March 18, every 10 days, you’ll receive a new post — your micro lesson — for the current decan, with information about the corresponding Minor Arcana card, plus prompts and practices to work with during that time.

Why I created this pilgrimage (& why complexity doesn’t scare me anymore — mostly!)…

Hi, I’m Cecily! I created this Astrological Pilgrimage through the Tarot because I know exactly what it's like to feel mystified by magic. For years, I kept my Tarot deck hidden away, thinking I should have been raised by witches or studied astrophysics to understand the meaning woven through the cosmos.

When Tarot grabbed me by the hair and yanked me (happily!) into the realm of mysticism, I began studying on my own, picking up nuggets of information and history from assorted sources as I went, trying to stitch various ideas into a coherent tapestry. It was fun and fascinating, but also felt like feeling my way down a dark hallway with only a match to light the way.

Of course, the Seeker’s journey is never straightforward. And much of the joy lies in the mystery, as each new door we open becomes a portal to another archive of knowledge. But navigating today’s glut of Instagram witches, astrologers, and Tarot readers, it’s hard to know who to listen to or what to focus on at any given time.

I’m not declaring myself an expception to that chorus of modern-day mystics (it’s good we’re all here talking about magic!). I’m only saying: it’s overwhelming trying to find your path amidst the infinite possible trails… and going it alone will only get you so far.

Which is why, in this decan walk, we’re traveling together, uncovering new facets of meaning as into our modern experience as a community, by sharing our stories and discoveries.

I finally worked with a teacher of Tarot and astrology over the last couple years — Christopher Marmolejo, whose work brings an important, much-needed decolonial lens to both artforms. It was Christopher’s decan walk, TENZ, where I found a structured, cyclical framework that helped me venture into astrology in a way that felt highly accessible — Tarot! And I did it alongisde really cool people who I treasure today (one of whom you’ll be meeting and learning from in this decan walk!).

This jorney is rooted in my 9 years of experience practicing and teaching Tarot. It’s woven with my unfolding knowledge of astrology and my belief that attending to time differently — outside the linear Gregorian model we’re subjected to — is a powerful way to reclaim our magic from oppressive systems.

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by the giant halls of spiritual study that reach back thousands of years. So, I’m channeling my abundance of Capicorn / projector energy to guide us along a dedicated path, taking in information at a pace we can digest, and circling back at times (thanks to the wheel!) to help new insights root a little deeper.

My commitment is to keep the wisdom fresh: I continue to walk the decan path with my own teacher, and I've brought in a more studied astrologer — Sara Pettit — to ensure you get the technical depth you need, without extensive study.

Nothing brings me joy like seeing a fellow mystic trading confusion and self-judgment (for “not getting it”) with self-recognition and confidence in their own magic! By the end of our decan walk, you’ll realize you have all the capacity you need to find your place in the cosmic fabric.

I met Sara in Christopher Marmolejo’s community, and deeply admire her decolonial stance, her sharp insight, her sense of humor, and her nuanced, grounded way of talking about astrology and Tarot. Sara has been studying astrology in depth with incredible teachers for several years, and I wanted to share her wisdom with this community!

Sara Petit is an astrologer and Tarot reader based in Oakland, on unceded ancestral land of the Ohlone people. Sara was a theater artist in the Bay Area for over a decade, working at the intersection of arts, health education, and social justice. Her love of meaning-making, archetypes, and storytelling led her to astrology and Tarot. She created Mystic Mirror to offer these systems of divination as a mirror for personal development and a map for change.
